About fertility therapy
There are many reasons to see a counsellor who has expertise in fertility and reproductive issues. These may include:
Difficulty achieving pregnancy.
Have received a diagnosis of infertility.
Needing to use a donor (sperm, egg or embryo) to achieve pregnancy.
Pregnancy loss, through miscarriage or pregnancy termination.
IVF treatment impacting your mental health – this may include anxiety, constantly thinking about falling pregnant, difficulty coping with other people’s pregnancies/children or just feeling like you are on an emotional rollercoaster.
Relationship difficulties due to fertility issues – this may include an increase in conflict or sexual difficulties.
Exploring options to preserve future fertility (i.e., gamete/egg/sperm storage)
Reports
Katie can provide reports for:
Hysterectomy
Using donor sperm/egg/embryo
Being a donor of sperm/eggs/embryo.
To gain a report you will need to usually have two in-depth implication counselling appointments. At times you may need more than two sessions - Katie will discuss this with you if it arises. The focus of these counselling sessions is to prepare you for the short-term, medium-term and long-term implications of undertaking the above treatments.
Please notify Katie if you are working with a fertility clinic when you request an appointment.
